LIV Golf Virginia, which was the eighth event of the Saudi-based tour’s 2025 season, came to a thrilling end. Toward the end of the competition, it was Joaquin Niemann vs Anirban Lahiri to decide who would walk away with the trophy and $4,000,000.

While Niemann and Lahiri did not face each other in the playoff, Lahiri had a chance to force a playoff on the 18th hole. However, his putt came up short which meant Niemann won LIV Golf Virginia. After three rounds in the competition, he scored 15-under par.

This win by Joaquin Niemann is significant because it’s his 4th win this season. Before this, Niemann won LIV Golf Adelaide, LIV Golf Singapore, and LIV Golf Mexico City. Niemann’s victory in Virginia today only adds to his impressive resume and puts him in a good position ahead of the 2025 US Open.

Apart from Niemann, other big names in LIV Golf like Phil Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau also had a good day. Both Mickelson and DeChambeau ended the event by finishing T4. They shot 13-under par after three rounds to achieve this position.

On the other hand, Jon Rahm finished the Virginia event T8 by scoring 10-under par. Brooks Koepka did not have a very memorable event as he ended up finishing T33. This finish will be a bit concerning for Koepka given he also missed the cut at the PGA Championship last month.
